Exhibition | Book Design | Case Study
This is an exhibit that plunges people into the life of someone different, using the latest technology. Immersive entertainment is a new medium that innovates video game design and adds the capacity to engage all senses – not just sight and sound, but taste, touch, and smell. It literally enables visitors to experience “putting yourself in someone else’s shoes.”
To create better acceptance of people who are perceived to be different, Sensorium focuses its experiences on emotions. The exhibits make emotions visible by representing them with color. By creating visual representation of another's unseen emotions, visitors gain a new perspective to look beyond physical, religious, and orientation differences in others. They literally can see how everyone shares common feelings, inviting them to focus on our human similarities versus our differences.
Exhibit Book Design
On leaving Sensorium, visitors get a card with the emotions they felt during their experience. There is a code to enter on the web site where they can learn the emotions they experienced and revisit how the experience affected them. The card also invites visitors to visit a web site and share their visit online – how they were impacted by Sensorium.
